BUS SERVICE serves 90% of the city and is provided exclusively by the local transportation company - trolleybuses, busses and trams - the simplest and most convenient way to get around Cluj (see some maps inside busses). They are partly new cars, which operate between 5 am and 11 pm, Mondays to Fridays, and 6 am to 10 pm - Saturdays and Sundays, every 5 to 20 minutes. The tickets are valid until getting off the bus, for any distance. Tickets for two flat fares - 2.6 lei - must be purchased before boarding at kiosks; plain-clothes inspectors make spot checks, and the fine for travelling without a valid ticket starts at 50 lei. Bus stops are marked by a (lighted) blue panel, stating the number of the cars (one or two-figure cars).
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE DISABLED. The modern busses and trolleybuses are provided with an access platform for the disabled. They also display on a panel and announce the name of the coming station.

RIDES BY TAXI. There are many taxi companies in Cluj and their drivers come at the desired place for no charge. Day rates are common to all the legally operated cars, 1,19 lei/km (around 33 eurocents), departure tariff is 1.19 lei/km anytime, while night rates are 1.39 lei/km. The legally operated cars display on the car and inside both the day and night tariffs.
